ABØUT

ØBLIVIØN ØBJECTS is a one-human studio founded by me, Janell, in 2025.
I create small instruments shaped with intention - designed, modeled, printed and assembled in my home studio in Singapore. My work sits at the intersection of calm utility, analogue sensibilities, and a quiet fascination with how objects hold presence.

'Oblivion' describes a quiet threshold - just before memory, just after release. It is the mental space where attention softens and the mind resets. My instruments are made for that space: subtle, grounding objects that live alongside you without demanding noise or spectacle.

My work draws from the visual world I've always loved: clean lines, functional clarity, and the understated confidence of retro industrial forms. Split-flap displays, railway clocks, early computers, tiled walls, typewritten text, cassette decks, film grain, symmetry and straight-edged architecture - these influences shape how I design: purposeful forms, quiet proportions and a sense of familiar tactility.
Many of my objects revolve around the gentle side of time: the hour that turns, the date that shifts, the small gestures that ground a day. I think often about presence - how subtle rituals help orient ourselves, how each day is its own reset, how noticing the everyday builds a quieter kind of clarity.
ØBLIVIØN ØBJECTS is where these ideas converge - an ongoing practice of shaping instruments that sit between function and feeling. Each instrument is considered, deliberate and quietly present, offering a grounded clarity to the spaces and days they inhabit.
